Trainwreck – Old Departures, New Beginnings

German neocrust band Trainwreck could arguably be called legends by now, having been around for almost a decade, with some members having previously been part of the remarkable Eaves, Glasses, The 244GL, Man The Change, The Tidal Sleep and Engrave. Their discography holds split releases with bands such as Zann, Ghostlimb, Perth Express, and Comadre, as well as an impressive LP titled If There Is Light, It Will Find You.

Their latest album, Old Departures, New Beginnings, marks their second full-length release, offering an explosive mix of screamo and dark, chaotic hardcore, interspersed with a few brief interludes. This combination is familiar to fans of Trainwreck and should convert those acquainted with the aforementioned bands into fans, although a word of caution is offered regarding the album’s potential intensity over its duration.
