Answer Crying – Under The Authority
Raging classic d-beat from Japan.
Artist: Answer Crying
Title: Under The Authority
Release: CD
Year: ????
Label: Tribal War Asia
Sixteen minutes of great Japanese käng punk! Musically, this is pretty straight-forward sounding band with the trademark Swedish sound of Mob-47, Krigshot and Crude SS raging all throughout. The album begins with an instrumental intro containing a sick metallic solo that’s more typical for the Japanese bands.
With the exception of the slightly longer three-and-a-half-minute track “Dirter,” every song on this record is a fast, furious assault, refusing to slow down for even a second. Unfortunately, the lyrics are absent, leaving us guessing what tracks like “Punkrock Sucks” might be about. Whatever the subject, the noise racket and energy come across loud and clear.
The CD was released by Tribal War Asia but there’s barely any other information about the record and I have no clue when it was released, but at least I know that Answer Crying have released a split with Venuux in 2002. Though, not groundbreaking or anything, I like Under The Authority and everyone looking for Japanese d-beat should take note. No surprise, all members of the band have the distinct Disclose / Discharge d-beat outlook from head to toe. They also play in other bands like Proletariart and Final.
