Angry Son – 3 Songs
Fantastic throat-shredding screamo from Japan.
I was introduced to this band by a fellow friend of mine. I’ve always had the urge to review it, but was distracted. Now that there are no more distractions, let’s get down to it.
Taking the name from a classic Indian Summer song (as well as sharing with an emocore band from the early ’90s), this new band from Japan has come to pull your heartstrings with three tracks, filled with personal confessions, written in the form of poetry. Drawing from the likes of Loma Prieta, Funeral Diner, Rene Descartes, etc., this lo-fi screamy goodness wastes no time in making sure that these three tracks wear their heartfelt passion on their sleeves until their vocal cords get torn to shreds, until there are no more tears to shed for five or six minutes.
And it is no wonder that this is considered by many as the Demo of the year. The tune is fresh out of the oven and is ready to be served and makes you keep wanting more. Keep an eye out of this band.
