No Walls! – Compilation Against The Wall
A punk benefit to support Anarchists Against The Wall in Palestine.
No Walls! is a benefit project to support Anarchists Against the Wall (AATW): direct action group that was established in 2003 in response to the construction of the wall Israel is building on Palestinian land in the Occupied West Bank. This group cooperates closely with Palestinians to collectively resist the occupation.
The anarchist movement in Israel, tightly intertwined with the DIY hardcore punk culture during the 1990s and early 2000s, garnered considerable support from the punk community. This led to the creation of benefit compilation albums such as this one, aimed at funding direct actions and providing legal support for activists in Israel and Palestine who are challenging the construction of the wall.
The album showcases 12 bands and artists, including Italian acts like Minoranza di Uno, Carlos Dunga, My Own Voice, Giovanni Trano, No Fly Zone, Antihuman Gang, Palkosceniko Al Neon, Grumo, and Bu Camel. It also features the US vegan straight edge rapper xForgotten Frequencyx and Swedish crust/hardcore bands Spiknykter and Lautstürmer.
Reflecting the diversity within the modern hardcore punk scene, the compilation unites these artists under a shared commitment to anti-authoritarian principles and a collective aspiration to dismantle the walls and forsee a world free from war, apartheid, and occupation. You can support AATW by purchasing the compilation on Bandcamp or making a direct donation to the group.
