Hailing from the northern depths of Arendal, Norway, Black Blood World brings us a vast array of intense and brooding hardcore punk that dashes in a slathering of crust that’s well worth the time to check out.

These guys bring us a heavy dose of hardcore hittin’ thrash that’s reminiscent of the glorious era of bands such as Uncurbed, 3 Way Cum, etc. However, one thing that stands out from this sadly underrated band is the sense of melody and determination the music seems to carry throughout.

The guitar riffage is superb and well thought out crust punk with a slight hint of metallic tinge at times. It’s a well-crafted structure that is diverse with every track. It’s not over-blown noise, nor is it your quintessential crust unit, this almost falls into its own realm, which gives this band a standout salute to the genre.

Looking into this band’s history and their stories of blood, sweat, and well… more blood, it sounds like these guys had a hell of time playing together. They’ve done their fair share of traveling throughout Scandinavia and Northern Europe and leaving a memorable trail of punk and mayhem.

From what I’ve gathered, their history wasn’t all rose-colored glasses, but a story about how punk, its underbelly and the realism in their words helped reinforce the struggle we face daily. It’s truth in art and this band is a telling story on how using the cathartic tool that punk is can help unleash a better version of ourselves.

This release is a barrage of multi-vocal hardcore punk with an element of urgency that beckons the core of what we do and why we do it. An underrated part of our punk history and a vital release that deserves much more attention. Get on this!
