In the midst of state repressions everywhere it’s still important to spread information about ongoing political resistance and struggle for social justice and total liberation. In this post I will try to share some links on animal liberation news and publications that managed to grab my attention.
“Militant Forces Against HLS (MFAH), Blackmail 3 & The SHAC Model‘. An animal liberationist zine about the fight against Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS)” is a new zine published by Dark Matter Publucations focusing on the SHAC campaign from an anarchist perspective. Debbie Vincent of the Blackmail 3 was recently sentenced to 6 years in prison while there was no evidence she had been present during any criminal acts, she has literally been found guilty by association.
For more information and historical background on the SHAC campaign I’ll recommend you the booklet “SHAC: A Campaign That Made History”, available in both Italian and English language.
And probably one of the most sincere and emotionally evocative pieces of writing I’ve read recently is this personal account on animal liberation written by Andy Stepanian of the SHAC7, ex-animal rights prisoner who is currently running the Sparrow Media project.
Apart from the underground activism there are also great aboveground projects going on, such as the Kickstarter project of the independent journalist Will Potter (Green Is The New Red) to expose animal cruelty in factory farms using drones for aerial photography! And he is even discussing his groundbreaking idea with Abby Martin on RT.

“What is scary in this world is oppression and injustice, when people hurt people, animals and nature. What is beautiful in this world is resistance, when people say ‘enough is enough’ and act. Oppression and injustice are everywhere, but so is resistance. Because some people know that if you fight you might lose, but if you don’t fight, you’ve already lost.”
—Debbie Vincent, Blackmail 3.
Debbie was sentenced to 6 years in prison, followed by a 5 year ASBO order for her work with SHAC.
